A whole deck, not a blank slide
Gamma creates presentations, documents, and web pages from a topic or content you supply. It generates not just draft text but the structure, the layout of each page, and the placement of imagery.
Rather than arranging elements on blank slides one at a time as in PowerPoint, the usual approach is to hand over your text or source material and have the AI produce a complete first pass. You then edit the theme, the order of cards, the text, and the images.

Stating who the audience is, what they should understand, and how long you have produces a structure aimed at a purpose rather than a list of facts. Where you already have notes or a document, supplying them grounds the content.
Compared with PowerPoint and Canva
PowerPoint gives you fine control over placement, animation, and corporate templates. Canva offers extensive templates and assets across far more than slides.
Gamma’s strength is producing structure and appearance together, quickly enough to get something readable end to end. Where the deliverable must be a PowerPoint file with detailed adjustments, drafting in Gamma and finishing after export is a workable route.
Cautions
Figures, examples, and citations the AI supplies are not necessarily correct. A polished deck makes errors harder to notice, so check against your source material. Before uploading confidential documents or customer information, check your organization’s policy and the service’s data handling.
The number of pages generated will not necessarily match your speaking time. Read it aloud, time it, and cut each page down to one idea.
