Siri rebuilt on Apple Intelligence
Siri AI is the new generation of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. Beyond answering questions by voice, it is designed to understand your personal context, what is on your screen, and information from the web, and to act across several apps.
Intended uses include finding what you need from messages, mail, and photos, asking about what is displayed, and running app features. A dedicated app keeps past conversations, allowing the kind of continuing dialogue that is closer to a chat assistant than the older Siri.
A name introduced at WWDC26
The name Siri AI was formally introduced on 8 June 2026 at WWDC26, with Apple describing it as an entirely new version of Siri.
Apple had already announced plans at WWDC24 to strengthen Siri with Apple Intelligence, including personal context, on-screen awareness, and app control. What arrived at WWDC26 was the name that brings those together.
How it differs from the older Siri
- Understands questions in the flow of conversation, including corrections
- Finds personal information across messages, mail, and photos
- Answers questions about the current screen, using Visual Intelligence
- Runs actions in supported apps through App Intents
- Keeps conversation history in a dedicated app, synced across devices

Availability, supported languages, and supported devices differ by region. Some features begin in beta, so interfaces and behavior may change.
Being able to work with personal information is convenient, but the AI can still misread context. Confirm what will happen before sending a message, changing an appointment, or acting on an important search result.
